Guide to Living Your 40’s Body, Mind and Soul

Welcome to your 40’s. This time is the most crucial opportunity to turn your life around and make your lifestyle healthier and better.

By the age of 40 most men reach the maximum workload and stress and they tend to lose focus of their lifestyle and overall health, although turning 40 is the ideal time for a man to take a breath and start focusing more on living his life right.

Living your life right, means taking care of every aspect of yourself, Body, Mind & soul. These three aspects of yourself are interconnected as part of the same whole, so to take care of one, you need to take care of all.

YOUR BODY

Your body is the portal to your mind and soul and you need to take care of it and treat it with respect. Here are some tips on how to treat your body:

  • Know your Numbers.

It is strongly recommended at the age of 40 to start looking into your numbers for blood pressure, cholesterol level, blood sugar level and body weight. A regular checkup with your family doctor can help you maintain a healthy body.

  • Know your family history.

Start looking into your family medical history and do the necessary screening to early detect or eliminate several diseases.

  • Manage your fitness & nutrition.

“I will start my diet/exercise tomorrow” a phrase said by many people, well, tomorrow is here and you cannot afford to wait any longer. Various medical problems that occur in men over 40 are associated with obesity and poor heart health. Following a nutrition and fitness plan is an essential step to a healthier life, but do not forget to provide your body with the right amount of rest and sleep as well.

  • Quit Smoking!

Smoking is both a physical addiction and a psychological habit, which makes it hard to quit, but at your 40’s you have to think seriously about finding a way to quit. To quit smoking successfully, you will need to have a good plan that addresses both the short-term challenge of quitting and the long-term challenge of preventing relapse.

 

YOUR MIND

As you get older, you may begin to feel more anxious and stressed. This affects the way your mind functions and so affecting your life, body & soul. At this point in your life, stress is almost everywhere and it is really hard to avoid it, but there are somethings that can help you reduce the stress and find some peace of mind. Here are some tips on how to reduce your stress level:

As much as exercising helps you improve your body health, it can also help reduce your stress level.

We all need to escape from reality every once in a while, and reading is a good way to do that.

Some people cannot see the value of taking care of their souls, but your soul is the source of your emotions, and your emotions have a huge effect on both your body and your mind. Taking care of your soul can help you reach the peacefulness and satisfaction you’ve been looking for your whole life. Here are some tips on how to feed your soul:

Start living your dreams.

  • Unplug from technology.

Get outdoors more and connect with your surroundings and enjoy all the details.

  • Spend more time with your loved ones.

Do not let your job affect your time with your family & friends.

  • Add some music to your life.
